In this first summer month, 317,187 passengers have been through its doors. This means a 6% growth compared to the same period last year. This result was achieved primarily through the expansion of low cost airlines (up by 14%). July 15th boasted a record number of passengers - 12,314. The average daily number of passengers in July reached 10,232, which is an increase of 6% compared to July 2009. In July, 3,278 flights were operated through Krakow Airport.
Jan PamuĊa, President of the John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice Ltd.: "10 new connections from Krakow Airport will allow us to maintain the upward trend in passenger numbers. I am confident that this trend will continue during the winter months, with new connections which we will gradually be announcing. I am certain that many of our passengers will benefit from the autumn-winter connections to Bologna and Madrid. At the same time, the network of connections on offer during the summer holidays is clearly beneficial to tourism here in the region. Walking around the city centre, you will meet people from virtually all the European countries. Partly owing to new connections to the Mediterranean countries, you will meet many Spaniards and Italians in particular, who are now able visit this region thanks to the numerous and convenient direct flight connections."
